I recently stayed at the Barclay Hotel for a few nights and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was simple but tasty, and the location couldn't have been better. The hotel has a unique and historical ambiance, with remnants of its past as an army headquarters. Despite lacking modern amenities, the overall experience was pleasant and the price was very reasonable. If you appreciate exciting interiors in a central location, I would highly recommend staying here.
Can recommend this hotel.

I had a great overnight stay at a conveniently located hotel. The room had plenty of space and a nice view of the park. The beds were very comfortable, and the large disabled bathroom with a heated floor was a lovely touch. The hotel had a lot of history, which added to the charm of my stay. The 24-hour reception made check-in seamless, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, and a cool building which has some ex-KGB elements
There was no wifi - but the bar / restaurant next door had this so it was not big deal

This hotel is right at the center of the city, making it the perfect location for exploring. You can easily walk to the old town or the best shopping area in just a couple of minutes. Plus, some rooms even have a balcony facing the town, offering lovely views.
All was fine during my stay.

Location
The personnel was not very hospitable. All hot dishes in breakfast were cold although we were among the first eaters there. I called repeatedly to reception but no-one answered.

The hotel is centrally located, within a 10-minute walk of the bus staiton. The rooms are old, and somewhat dark, but perfectly adequate. We appreciated the heat on the cold morning! Breakfast was simple but healthy and quite satisfactory. The horel is situated very near the center where there is an abundance of restaurants and cultural/historical sites. Tartu is a great town for walking, especially on a sunny autumn day.
The map on the Bookings site is not so clear, and it took a while to find someone near the bus station after arrival to point us in the right direction. Once pointed, it was an easy and pleasant walk to the hotel.

The location is excellent, right in the heart of the city, with easy access to everything. The hotel is also close to a park, which is great for nature enthusiasts like myself who want to be in direct touch with nature.
I felt very comfortable during my stay and had no complaints about the facilities or services.

The Barclay has an excellent central location and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The bathroom was modern and clean with a hot towel bar.
The restaurant is only open for breakfast and the bar/lounge is not open at all. This is not a problem as there are many excellent restaurants and lounges within walking distance. The hotel needs to invest in new equipment to keep the buffett breakfast food and beverages hot.

We had a great experience at the hotel. The staff at Barclay Hotel were helpful and friendly, and the building itself had a charming historical atmosphere. Despite some wear and tear, the facilities were clean and well-maintained. The location was absolutely incredible, right in the heart of the city and close to everything. Plus, our daughter loved the aquarium and the old elevator was a really cool feature. we enjoyed our stay and would recommend Barclay Hotel to others.
All was good 😊
